Whale Watching
Our regularly scheduled whale watching charters leave from Anacortes (on the mainland) and Orcas Island. These 3 to 4 hour excursions on our high speed vessels are the best way to see the scenic San Juan islands while looking for Humpbacks, Minke, Grey, and Orca Whales!
Along the way we'll encounter stunning scenery, seals, sea lions, porpoises, bald eagles, and more! With experienced captains and trained naturalists on board these tours are great for friends and families alike.
Departures at 11:00 and 3:30 daily in the summer from both locations, and 1:00 PM in the spring and fall.
Our Locations
Our locations are strategically placed to offer the best whale viewing opportunities. All of our captains and crew work together as members of the Pacific Whale Watch Association to access the best whale-sightings network in the world. If whales in the area, we know it and our high-speed boat can get your there. Our elevated wheelhouses and upper decks allow us to find more whales, spot them sooner, and view them better than smaller boats. The calm waters near the San Juan Islands are one of the best places in the world to view wild orcas. Humpback whales, minke whales, and gray whales also call the region home.
Our boats are comfortable fast vessels designed for whale watching in the Pacific Northwest. With indoor cabins, outdoor viewing platforms, restrooms on board, and the most experienced captains and naturalists in the area expeditions with Outer Island are the best option for Whale Watching!
"It was awesome! The crew was amazing, with more knowledge than you can absorb in a day. This company and trip will not disappoint you."
